On the Second Sunday of Easter, Pastor Tormod and Josh Tabor shared their thoughts reflecting on Thomas' doubts of Jesus' Resurrection:
"So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” (John 20:25)
When Pastor Tormod asked the children if they believed in ghosts or in aliens, the children agreed these do not exist. When Pastor Tormod asked the children if they believed in Jesus, they all said YES! They discussed that we can believe in Jesus because we can see His love and grace working through their family and friends.
Josh observed that doubt forces us to ask questions, to research, to seek answers, and to find acceptance. Much like our phobias - fear of snakes - we overcome this fear through questions, research, and finding answers. When Jesus returns to his disciples and speaks to Thomas, Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Doubt has done good work. Doubt strenghtens our understanding of ourselves and our faith.
Let doubt allow you to deepen your faith!
